Every month, families from around New Zealand travel an average of 210km to get from their house to a Ronald McDonald House®.
In April 2022, Luka Pascoe (2 years old) was diagnosed with Stage Four Neuroblastoma Cancer, resulting in 16 months of intensive treatment at the Child Haematology and Oncology unit in Christchurch Hospital.
Ronald McDonald Christchurch has become Luka's home away from home (Te Anau), 640kms away.
By the end of Luka's treatment in August 2023, Luka's family would have taken a total of at least 26 one way trips between Te Anau and Christchurch for a total of 16,640km.
This March, we will be making a difference by walking, running, swimming or cycling 16,640km as a team while raising as much $$$ to support families with a child in a hospital away from home around New Zealand.
Without Ronald McDonald, life for Luka's family would have been even harder over the past year. This is our way of giving back to this amazing organisation and to the incredible people who have looked after Luka.
